The public consultation was held at the Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington Spa on 31st May. Over 4,000 invitations were sent out as well as press coverage to advertise the event. We see this as the beginning of a good relationship with our local community.

Locals to Althorpe Street have shown their passion and commitment by adding their valuable contributions on the provided comment forms. We see public input as a positive source of great design ideas and uses for the project. We will take all these comments on board and address them in partnership with Warwick District Council for the benefit of all.

We thank all the local people of Leamington Spa for their valuable contributions and comments collected at the public consultation. Here are some of the comments and suggestions we received.
52% of people thought the Althorpe Street Development proposal was a good idea.
41% of people thought the Althorpe Street Development would add security and improve the area. 18% gave a neutral response.
38% thought the development would provide support for local business. 17% gave a neutral response.
49% saw regeneration of the canal side as positive step. 17% gave a neutral response.
87% felt it was important to have good pedestrian access to the canal side
37% felt the proposal would help protect residential areas from HMO’s (houses of multiple occupancy). 16% gave a neutral response.
We got some great feedback in the form of comments;
24% expressed concerns over parking.
13% expressed concerns over rising student numbers to Leamington.
14% asked for reassurance around infrastructure.
7% declined all questions but made comments.
